There really aren't words to describe the videos and pictures about September 11, 2001.  The videos and pictures say it all.

Chapter 15: 9/11

After reading Chapter 15 about September 11th, a day no American will or should forget it reminds you about what happened on the day.  I remember exactly where I was when I found out about what happened 10 years ago and i'm sure most people do too.  It is something no one should ever forget.  Three thousand innocent people were murdered on September 11, 2001 at the hands of lifeless terrorists.

After September 11th, our President at the time George W. Bush sent us to war to find Weapons of Mass Distruction.  Ten years later and thousands of American soldiers dead we are still at war.  One thing that did occur this past year was the killing of Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the terrorist attacks.  Amaericans were celebrating his death because finally "we" got him.

Chapter 8: Father Coughlin - Fomenting Anti-Semitism via the Radio

Elie Wiesel's book, Night is a true story, written by a Elie Wiesel himself.  He describes his Holocaust ordeal and gives real live encounters.  After reading this book in high school, it really opened up my mind about how sad this time was.  Reading something so surreal like Night brings to life Anti-semitism.

Chapter 8: Father Coughlin - Fomenting Anti-Semitism via the Radio

Father Caughlin did not like Jews.  He defended the Nazis "persecution" of Jews.  After some comments were made on the radio by Father Coughlin, some radio stations did not want to be associated with him anymore.  They said his remarks were disgraceful.

I decided to chose this chapter because I am Jewish myself and i think it is important for people to realize that Anti-semitism is still out there and people still hate Jews.  I didn't grow up during the worst time of the hatred like the Holocaust but when you watch the news today, in 2011 soon to be 2012 there are stories of property, houses, cars, being vandalized just because someone is Jewish.

Anti-semitism is alive a well even in today's society.  When you watch the news, there are stories that have to do with hate towards Jews.  After reading Chapter 8 in Mightier than the Sword you get an understanding of how Anti-semitism spread.  it spread through media, newspapers, etc.  Father Coughlin, a Roman Catholic priest, preached Anti-semitism during the 1930s and 1940s on the radio.  People would tune in and listen every Sunday to hear what he had to say.  Coughlin's message was "Jews were evil, money-hungry conspirators who had infiltrated American life and were destroying every value that Christian people held sacred."
